Wind farm repowering is accelerating across Europe.

Orbis Terrarum is currently carrying out three geotechnical and geophysical studies for wind repowering projects in northern Spain, helping developers understand existing ground conditions before making critical design and investment decisions.

Wind repowering is accelerating across Europe. Spain has 81 projects in its latest programme. In Italy, one recent repowering project doubled production while cutting the number of turbines by 73%, reducing the visual impact on the landscape.

New turbines design bring different loads and foundation requirements. Existing ground conditions, drainage, and corrosion risks don’t automatically carry over from the original design.
